Youth Healthcare Pipeline
Eastern CT’s Youth Healthcare Pipeline Initiative
The Youth Healthcare Pipeline (YHPI) delivers job skills training, leading to industry recognized credentials, for High School students that will pursue a Healthcare career. The credentials will enable immediate employment into entry level healthcare careers such as C.N.A and EMT. YHPI training programs align with high-demand employment opportunities as the first step into a healthcare career pathway.
The Opportunity:
The Youth Healthcare Pipeline Initiative (YHPI) Training:
The YHPI program is delivered in partnership with comprehensive high schools throughout Eastern Connecticut. This program helps fund different healthcare-related training for high school students interested in a career in healthcare upon graduation. Students interested in getting involved in this program should contact their school’s Guidance Departments to learn more about the classes being offered at their school.
The Training:
Students who enroll in this program will:
- Complete healthcare-specific training taught during class time in their individual schools.
- Gain a skill set that is necessary to be successful in the healthcare field
- Have access to healthcare employers through various career fairs and events.
- Receive one-on-one job search assistance through the American Job Center’s Business Services team.
- Receive a recognized credential at completion.
